Over the past 4 months or so I went from weighing 226 lbs to 210 in about a month. For about 2 months or so, my weight didn't change at all even with heavy exercise. Then i stopped exercising cause i had to work, i still ate the same, but my weight started dropping. Football praactice has started again and im exercising a LOT. i don't really eat as bad but I've gone from 210 to 200. THEN after that, I started dropping weight daily. Every day I would lose like one pound. The scary thing happened yesterday. I weighed 194 and today I weighed 189. This is really confusing. Is this unhealthy? I'm 16 years old and trying to get in shape. I'm not concerned about weight loss, but slimming up. Losing weight this fast.... will it cause my body fat to decrease?

Stop putting yourself on a weighing machine.Sometimes you dun see immediate effect in losing or gaining weight.  You may stop eating and wondering why you are not losing weight because it takes time.  And sometimes you gain weight even if you are not eating because the weight came from some time ago.

You might need to get your thyroid checked. When your thyroid is off you can gain or loose weight drasticly. You might also get your blood sugar checked as well. Next.. one big issue is are you weighing yourself on the same scale? If you aren't ignore everything I already said and start weighing yourself on the same scale for a week. Also it is normal to fluxuate in weight a few pounds every now and then. If ur weighing yourself on the same scale and you are seeing these results go to a dr. If you havent been.. try that for a week and if the problem persists go to the dr. good luck in football.

Dude, dont be worried or anything... The exercise you were doing was turning the excess fat you had into muscle ( as it does ) and it is a well known fact that muscle weighs ALOT  more than fat does.My advice would be to keep doing the exercise if you can because it will build you up and make you look stocky as hell ( which girls dig Smiley ...  unless tehr small in which case you could break em... ) ANYWAY if you are too busey doo a few more hours or so at the weekend and don't worry if you mis a day or somthing cos its cool just dont eat anything unhealty if u can.But if you want to lose weight all togeather... keep eating with no exercise untill you get a bit below the weight u want to be and then start exercising Smiley Jogging is awesome cos it trains up most of your body and espically your legs which are most important to me :)GOOD LUCK M8!

The human body will protect itself from rapid weight loss. these are where you plateau, it's aggravating but once you get rolling you can drop weight. you didn't give your height but you can loose too much with football practices. you should check yourself for your physical strength. If you are at a weight that feels good to you with adequate stamina and strength. stay there , eat more, you lose too much you can't have much stamina or strength
