Most people on here wouldn't recommend it, but I would agree with you. I eat around 1200 calories to maintain my weight and when I eat 900 I definitely lose some. 900 calories might not be right for you, though. Ask your doctor how low you should go first, as you can really do serious damage.

I would not advise u to restrict ur calories to 900, its not healthy at all 1200 would be good try to have a balanced diet which contains all food groups

A better idea would be to work out more. Running for example is an excellent weight-loosing activity which also helps you keep fit. Eating too little can be dangerous as your body will not get the energy it needs to maintain itself. Plus, feeling hungry all the time isn't exactly a nice feeling.

If you eat 500 calories a day less than you need, you will lose 1 lb a week.  If you eat 250 calories a day less than you need, you will lose a 1/2 lb a week.  However, it's not recommended that you drop below 1200, or at lowest 1000 calories a day.  Your body needs a certain base level to function, or it can go into starvation mode and start hanging onto everything you eat.  That could actually make it more difficult to lose weight, as well as not being healthy.  So, I would suggest that you cut calories to 1000-1200 a day.  That should allow you to lose 1/2-1 lb a week.  And, it would also be good to add in some exercise too.  This will help you lose extra weight, and also help you to be in better overall health.
