Hi. I am a fat girl. I recently decided that I am ok with being bigger, but I would like to lose about 20 pounds and firm up. I would still be overweight, but I like to think that I will feel better physically. My question is: If I combine strength training with cardio, will my body firm up, just get smaller, or both? I really just want to tone my body some so that I don't feel so jiggly, but I actually like the way my body is shaped.I'm planning on lifting weights, doing aerobic walking, biking more, doing lunges, and sit-ups. I have begun to eat more balanced. Lean meats, salads, water, grains, veggies, etc.

Yes...aim to lose about 0.5kg a week! Make sure you drink lots of water when exercising.Outdoor jogging for 50mins will definitely knock the fat off....your plan sounds good because you are cross training! Which means doing cardio, weights and a variety of exercise...which heightens weightloss! I think you sound smart! Don't forget to STRETCH after each work out.Good luck.

What you are planning sounds great.  Just keep in mind you should do aleast 30 minuntes of cardio 5 times a week.  Try pilates it will help you tone your body but keep your shape. Since it is summer try to do some out doors sports like bike riding or roller blading.  Dont forget the sun screen, protect your skin it is what keeps you looking young. Good Luck!!

You will tone up really good that way but to push yourself get some pilates videos. that will do toning in places you never thought jiggled.
