and I can eat 1800 calories per day to maintain my weight. I would like to loose about five pounds (some weight in my butt and thighs) so how many calories should I eat per day to do this relatively quickly, but also safely? Thanks

You should cut 500 off your BMR to get the amount of calories you would need to cosume each day to be able to lose weight effectively.
