You can exercise until your feet fall off but the most important thing to do if you want to lose weight is diet.  I became a vegetarian 7 months ago and I've shedded 4 inches off my waist and lost 25 lbs.  Studies have shown that diet alone contributes to losing weight 10x faster than exercise alone.  However, if you want to lose inches on your waist or sculpt a certain area of your body, focus on strength/weight training for that particular muscle group.  Using a crunch machine with weights is optimal for losing inches on your waist.

find ways to motivate yourself:- get a calander, and cross of each day when you exercise for over an hour. or something like that.when you look at a calander full of crosses you will feel proud and it will help motivate you to continue.- find healthy foods that taste good.- reward yourself for your hardwork, with something that you want that is still motivating you, like new clothes or a massage.- try positive affirmations, where you stand infront of the mirror and say something you wish to be as if you already are it. i.e i weigh 150 pounds or i look good. repeat it like 10 times every day- don't forget to imagine your ideal body, and how great you will feel going back to school and looking good.remember, make sure its sustainable, you don't want to put it all back on for winter. So its more liek a lifestyle choice than a diet. change your habits for good.

Well you don't really have a whole lot to lose. Try and walk daily, find a destination that is a mile away, walk there and back. Bring your I-pod and get lost in your music and your walks will be nothing. Maybe find a summer job that has physical work involved, not only would you be working out but you would get paid as well! Maybe even start walking dogs or something. Swimmings great too, maybe get your friends together and go swimming at the local pool once or twice a week. You also would need to eat healthier. So try fruits over chips and other snacks, maybe lean cuisines for lunches? Anything to help reduce the calorie intake as well.

Almost everyone likes to eat and the worst thing about loosng weight that people fear is that they will have to cut down on their intake of food and not be able to eat things that they love. I know you've heard of all the stuff like eat healthy and dont eat junk food. While this is true, it is far less to motivate you. I think the best of the bet ways to loose weight is to exercise. Trust me when I say this, you will observe a difference if you exercise diligently about 3-4 times a week. Go to the gym go on the treadmill or just jog around. Exercise that makes your whole body move are the best to loose weight. Cycling is wonderful. The weather is nice, summer is here, so jogging outside should be fun. Also, obviously, watch your diet,  it is not good for anyone to eat to much junk food or anything. Also, think of it this way, you're going to meet new people in high school so look your best. Good Luck

i think at your age it is better to do things you think are fun rather than just an exercise regime. weight loss is quicker with cardio exercises so get the heart pumping. put some load music on and dance around, go swimming, jogging although hard at first can be quite exhilerating once you get into it. get your friends involved. join a sport. but whatever you do make sure you have fun.with food everyone knows what is best. don't be silly about it. don't go starving yourself or only eat apples, eat a balnced diet with fruit veg and pastas. just with a few extra rules, like eat what you want but smaller portions. this way you still get treats and won't feel like a failure if you eat a chocolate bar. and don't eat after 7pm and if you do then make it something light like yogurt or a piece of fruit. and drink lots of water. keeping motivated is the hard part and you will need to find things that do it for you. instead of going off your weight loss, take measurements of stomach arms and thighs.(muscle weighs more than fat so you may actually gain some weight but it will be more proportioned and toned). and remember to be happy being you. it is ok to want to be healthy but it is not ok to punish yourself or talk yourself down just because YOU perceive yourself to be less than perfect. good luck, have fun, and be happy
