5 out of 5 stars Future FFG   April 27, 2008

I love this book. Lisa has been in the trenches and knows what being a FG is like. She gives practical advice. The mantras mentioned in her book also are a big help. If you are looking to make a life long change then read this book!!!

5 out of 5 stars FFG and Future FFG Rock!   April 15, 2008

I am not even finished with this book and have gotten so much out of it. I am a FFG and can use all the help I can get. I do this through reading and self discovery in my new journey of "maintenance." The one tip that has been the most useful for me is "INO" It's NOT an Option! WOW, that is worth 5 stars in itself. Lisa D. creates humor with realistic advice on how to loose weight, keep it off and most importantly, be healthy.

We all know HOW to lose weight. Eat less and move more.... DUH! This book is not another diet so, don't look for that. This book is a different approach to changing yourself inside out. I found it really REAL and absolutely doable.
Good book!

5 out of 5 stars Gives me hope   April 11, 2008
I've never written a review for a book on here before. However, this book was so good, I just want everyone to know it. If you obsess about food and dieting but seem to make the same mistakes over and over again, then this book is for you. I read the book in 24 hours. I couldn't put it down. Finally, there is someone else out there who understands the way I think about food. Its not that I haven't read other diet books before. Its not that I don't know what kind of food or portion sizes to be eating. Its not the what, its the how. And this book gives you tricks to use to perform the how. I can tell its going to change my life, and I will proudly say I am an FFG....

5 out of 5 stars If you can relate to it, it's great!   April 10, 2008
Lisa's story is not everyone's "fat story," but it is certainly mine and, judging from other reviews, is the same story for many other people.

The book is enjoyable because of Lisa's writing style and inspirational because of her success and ability to keep the weight off for so many years. I mean, honestly, I could read the book and enjoy it even if I were thin and had never struggled with my weight.

It goes from four stars (for being a good book) to five for me because it was so refreshing to read something written by somebody who has had the same struggles I have. Just knowing now that other people struggle will the whole fat girl mindset makes this book worth the price for me. I mean, I knew it before, but had never read anything before that was written by somebody who had this sort of struggle.

I appreciate that Lisa took the time and the risk to write this book. It's very helpful.
