Weign-in number 3 2008 - Signs of progress

Today marks my third weigh-in for 2008 and two weeks from the beginning of my New Start. I was unsure what today would bring. I had done well almost all week, with the exception of last Sunday. I stuck to my plan and ate almost only fruit for breakfast. One day I had two English Muffins. My lunches were light. Most days keeping under 400 calories. While my dinners were probably bigger than they should have been, they were well balanced and I did try to cut back some on portion size. I still need to work on portion size and I still need to get back into the food logs. I am getting there slowly, tracking on some days. Now I just need to be consistent and do it every day. I stuck with my daily walks to get in 15 - 20 minutes of exercise with the exception of this past weekend.

I had some anxiety stepping up to the scale this morning. I just wasn’t sure. I have had periods before where I worked at it and thought I should have lost some weight and just didn’t. Even though I stuck to my plan and I knew it should lead to some improvements, I wasn’t sure if two weeks was enough. I had figured on giving it a month before I started to re-asses and determine if anything needed to change. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Today’s weight was 361.6, making for a 5 pound loss since last Friday. I’m going to use that to build on my motivation and keep working at getting to a lower weight.
