The Horrors of Halloween
It has been awhile since I last wrote in my journal. I have been busy and facing my continual lack of motivation as well as serious issues dealing with old habits and temptation. Halloween this year was a horrifying experience. Not because of the ghost and ghouls, but because of the candy! I dove right in and didn’t stop for a week. To top it off, my food choices for the past few weeks haven’t been very good either. They are coming to know me on a first name basis at the Chinese buffet and I might as well have a parking place with my name on it at the liquor store. More about that later. We decided on getting less candy this year so there would be non leftover after trick or treat night.
The problem was, we got it almost a week ahead of time and instead of setting it out of the way, I jumped right in and started off on the “snack size” bars. Now, this might not have been a big problem if I hadn’t eaten most of the bag myself over the course of that week. Instead of getting a good lunch I would grab 5 or 6 of the bars and get back to work. Not good at all. When the week was over. I was up about 10 pounds. I will be posting more on my weigh-ins in another post later on today. Despite my “serious” attempt at getting back on track with better food choices and losing a stead amount of weight each and every week, I seem to have bottomed out and am now facing some weight gain. The thing that pisses me off the most is that the two weeks before I had lost about 10 pounds. It seems to be a real challenge to have just one. Whether it be a piece of candy, a beer, a glass of wine or whatever else it might be.
