Peaks and Valleys
My motivation continue to be a problem and now it is having a negative effect. This week, I saw my first gain in a while. Maybe this will actually be a good thing and give me the kick in the but I have been needing to get back on track. The nutritionist says that it is pretty common to hit plateaus with weight loss. I can understand that as I have had some weeks where I lost 10 pounds and then others where I lost 2. To me It seems that my body adjusts to how I am eating. Which would make the large amount of weight I lost when I initially changed my eating habits more understandable. Then again, I can have weeks where I hit my calorie target almost every day and lose 2 pounds and then weeks where I am over by 600 - 1000 calories almost every day and lose 5 pounds. The nutritionist also said that it is pretty common to hit a low point at this time of year with it being the middle of winter and all. Between the post holiday low and the fact that there is a lot less sun during the day can lead to some serious gloom. Oh well, in any case I need to get things moving forward again. I am looking forward to spring!
