Strawberry Smoothie
With my recent weight gain and my realization that I need to get myself more focused on at least eating better food, if for now not losing more weight. I decided to get things moving forward today with much better choices. I started the day off with some grape nuts cereal. I love that stuff.. and it is packed with 6 grams of fiber per serving. Unfortunately it also has a high amount of calories coming in at 200 calories per serving. I had about 2.5 servings for breakfast and then a mid morning snack of a pear and banana. Now, im having a bit of a late lunch. I decided to have something good for me, yet great tasting.
I picked up two boxes of Met-RX meal replacement shakes awhile back. I bought myself a 20 pack of Berry Blast and a 50 pack of Extreme Chocolate. These shakes are great. They provide a low fat meal replacement that tastes really good. I generally fill a blender up with about 28 oz. of cold water and the shake mix. Most days including today, I add a little extra to make the shake even better. Today I went with a berry blast shake and added about 3 cups of frozen strawberries to it. It made for good lunch packed with tons of nutrition and totaled only around 500 calories. It was a lot like a frozen strawberry smoothie. The chocolate shakes are REALLY good too! I like to mix in a tablespoon of peanut butter and a banana with them. The peanut butter ads a few extra calories, but when it is all mixed together it is so damn good and well worth it.
