Noodlecising

Another great form of above ground swimming pool exercise I have found is to use foam noodles along with the water for resistance. Holding the noodles with both hands then trying to push them down under the water is a great way to get a quick workout and stay cool at the same time. I place both hands on the noodle about 2 feet apart then slowly push the noodle underwater. The noodles natural tendency to float creates a good resistance and seems to be a pretty good way to keep moving. I also do three step noodlecising where I hold the noodle at arms length and pull it down and towards my mid section. Then I let it slowly push my hands up and then push it back out to arms length. It gives a good range of motion and some decent resistance at the same time. I also like to just take advantage of the open pool and move my arms in a full range of motion back to front.. and back again. A great way to stretch parts that haven’t been stretched in a long time. The water seems allow me to move more and for longer periods of time without any pain.
