Fitness Equipment
Why is it so hard to find fitness equipment for people over 250 pounds? I have been wanting to get an elliptical for a while now. The problem is that almost every one I look at has a user capacity of 250 pounds or less. I just don’t get it. I want to lose weight. But, to be able to have a home gym workout, I need to lose weight. It is starting to piss me off. Oh yeah, sure. If I want to go out and drop $1500+ I can get a gym quality machine that holds 300 pounds or more. But, I don’t have $1500 to spend on a single piece of fitness equipment and I don’t think I should have to spend that much. Are you telling me it is impossible to manufacture a machine with a user capacity greater than 250 pounds for less than $1000? I have found one elliptical that will hold up to 300 pounds. I have found a few treadmills that will hold 325 but I still have not found anything that will go to around 350. There has to be something out there. But, I don’t know where to look.
Do you know of a place to find good quality fitness equipment that costs less than $1000 and supports more than 300 pounds? Weigh In with your thoughts and let me know.

I’ve been in the same situation. The only thing I could find to support my mass was the street. I used it by walking until I’d lost enough to be able to use the machines. It took a while and wasn’t easy.
Best wishes.

Thats a great suggestion
I love to get out and spend time in the woods going for walks and hiking.. The problem is, living in Pennsylvania, it tends to get cold. It would probably be better for me going out and walking with a 40 pound coat on my back.. but I hate going out in the cold. It has been in the 30’s and 20’s and even lower for the better part of a week. It is probably going to be pretty cold for awhile.. With 4+ months of less than optimal weather each year. I would like to find something that I can use to help me work out when I can’t go out for a walk.
