The feast has come and gone

So I survived thanksgiving. It has been one heck of a week. Between getting ready for Thanksgiving and the actual day I thought for sure I would tank this week. But I kept things in line and didn’t go way overboard even though I made everybody at the dinner table go whooooah when I pulled off the huge ass turkey leg and proceeded to polish it off. We still have plenty of left-overs that I will be eating during the next few days so next week may not be as kind, but this week I managed to lose 1 pound and am currently at 418 pounds.

Carrots make a tasty snack

I have been chewing on carrots a lot more, lately. They make a great snack and the dog loves them too. I like to crunch on the baby carrots. I have found them to be low in calories and packed full of good stuff. The only down side is that they seem to have a high amount of sodium in them. But it seems like almost everything I try to eat has more sodium in it. Once in awhile I am looking for something with a little more flavor though, so I like to put a small amount of no fat salad dressing on them. That unfortunately increases the sodium too, but it only ads a very small amount of calories. I discovered almost by accident that the dog likes them. One night I was crunching away and out of curiosity I gave him one to see if he would eat it. Since then, he gets all excited whenever he sees a bag of carrots and will bark at me until I give him some. It is pretty funny.
