Starting out…

Each week I want to do a weekly weigh-in where I post the weight I am at that week to give myself some sort of idea of where I stand and how well or poorly I am doing. My starting weight was 468 Pounds and that was September 15. I did not weigh myself last week September 22, simply because I was affraid that when I stepped on the scale it would say 1 person at a time. It only goes up to 450 lbs. Today I decided to bite the bullet and step up to the scale. I was happy and surprised to see that I currently weight in at 445 pounds.

Motivational problems

Seems like I am having problems getting the motivation to get started with the exercises. I have yeat to start. I want to, it is just that once I get my son off to school in the morning, I get right to work because of the project that needs to be done I feel pressed into getting that done rather than spend some time working out. I need to get myself to take an hour each morning as an investment into future health. Easier said than done.

Today was the day we decided to go to the fair. We kept the kids home from school and spent the day having fun together as a family. It was a beautiful day and we all had fun. And I kept the eating to a minimum, even though there were soo many good things to eat.

Gyro – greek food – shaved meat with lettuce, tomatoes, onions on a pita with a whie sauce over it. These are one of my favorite food, I get them every year at the fair. Just that usually I get 4 or 5.. today I got one.

2 hot sausage subs with peppers and onions
1 lg lemonade
1 lg orange drink

4 glasses v8 vegie juice

Fair Time Ahead

So, we decided to just go to the fair one day during the week and let the kids skip school so we could all go as a family. We couldn’t have picked a better day. Bright sunny sky. warm, but not hot. And not packed like it can get at times. Some days they see 100,000 people. It seems like everywhere you turn at the fair there is another food stand. All kinds of good food. But when the day was done, I managed to go home not having eaten too much and we all had a blast even with all of the walking that needed to be done. That had to be the toughest part. Good thing they have a lot of benches.

Deadlines and Busy Schedules

As a business owner and self employed programmer most of my days are spent working at the computer. But, for the most part I try and take some time off to do things with the family or watch some TV with my gf or just take some time off and get away from the computer. But, as with all aspects of life, sometimes things need to be done. There are deadlines to meet and schedules to keep. It just gets tough when those deadlines are for big projects that need to be done in 1/3 of the normal time they should take. It makes it even harder when you have to work like that while you are trying to change pretty much everything about your lifestyle with regards to how you eat and trying to add new physical activities to your day to day routine. It especially makes it hard to try and maintain a healthy eating and living schedule. The upcoming month or two should prove to be pretty interested and quite a challenge to staying on schedule with my diet and exercise plans. Lets hope the improved eating habits add the extra energy I need and lower the stress that is sure to come from some long nights of pounding away at the keyboard.
